Armored Audi A8 L Security

Attention politicians, war lords, and drug dealers! Audi is thinking about you and your needs with the all-new 2011 Audi A8L Security. The vehicle is slated to go on sale later this summer (2011).

This version is just as sexy as the standard A8 but the Security version is certified by the German government to comply with the VR7 ballistic standard. This pretty much means that the A8 L Security is capable of taking a numerous bullets from rifles, small arms fire, and small explosives such as hand-grenades and light anti-tank mines. Of course all this extra protection means that this thing also weighs as much as a tank. Not to worry though as the car has been fitted with a 6.3-liter W12 engine which produces 500hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. Power is transferred to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The car is still able to achieve the 0-60mph in an impressive 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 131 mph.  The 500hp beast happens to consume 3 liters less of gasoline when compared to the previous 450hp model. A different engine is also rumored for the 2012 model which will have a fuel consumption of 23.5mpg. Only a diesel motor is capable of having this type of fuel economy considering how much the car weighs. We’ll see but it looks like it’s going to be a diesel engine for the 2012 model. continue reading →

Toyota celica replica of Ferrari F430

Yikes! Some kid on e-bay has done it once again. That is, disrespect an exotic car by making a replica of it. Here we have a Ferrari F430 that is based on the Toyota Celica. To give the e-bay seller some credit, at least he didn’t go the main stream route by using a Pontiac Fiero. The owner of this ‘Toyota F430’ should actually be pretty proud when compared to this Lamborghini Murcielago replica based on a Chevrolet Camaro.

The ‘Toyota F430’ looks good from far but far from good. I’m guessing he can still pick up plenty of girls and convince them it’s a Ferrari. I mean, my sister’s friend thought she saw a Ferrari once but it was actually a Ford Mustang (all because of the horse on the back). continue reading →

Audi A6 tuned by ABT Sportsline

Even the guys from “Saudis in Audis” couldn’t handle this Audi A6. The German tuner, ABT Sportsline, have released details about what they’ve been up to recently and their Audi A6 project. Upgrades include mechanical modifications, minimal cosmetic changes, and a set of interesting wheels.

Stage I from ABT Sportsline helps the Audi 3.0 liter TDI gain an additional 37 horsepower to the stock 245 horsepower. Stage II or ABT Power S package spices things up a bit by adding a turbo charger to the Audi A6. With the help of forced induction, the power tops up at 310 horsepower.  In the Power S variant, the Audi A6 also has put out an impressive 450 lb-ft of torque. The German tuner is also working on developing a supercharger kit for the 3.0 liter gasoline engine which is rumored to be capable of producing a whopping 410 horsepower. That’s an increase of 110 from the stock gasoline engine. continue reading →

Angry Chinese lamborghini gallardo owner destroys car

A Lamborghini Gallardo owner in China was not a very happy camper after receiving a lemon Lambo and dealing with mechanical failures during his six-month ownership. He had the car towed to the Lamborghini dealership and the car was damaged in transit on the way to the shop. To make matters worse, no one was willing to take responsibility for the damage. And to make things just a bit more interesting, his car still failed to work properly after having his Gallardo serviced at an official Lamborghini dealership.

Fed up, the owner tried to solve the issue and contact Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann. With no solution or answer for the Gallardo owner, he took matters into his own hands. You may ask, “what kind of matters”? Oh you know; like hiring a crew equipped with sledgehammers to destroy the lemon Lamborghini Gallardo. He also notified the media of the event in the hopes of getting public attention. The Gallardo may not have worked but getting the attention sure did! continue reading →
