Car tuning company BRABUS have unveiled a sweet looking Mercedes-Benz S350 BlueTec CDI. Normally car tuners go after big horsepower gains and visual appeal, which BRABUS has done with the S350 but they’ve also made the car Euro VI emission standard complaint, which doesn’t even go into effect until 2014.
Enough of this emission talk, let’s get into the things we’re more interested in. The top of the line BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D6S S350 comes with 313 horsepower (up 55 hp) and 509 pound-feet (690 Nm) of torque (up from 457 lb-ft/620 Nm). The Mercedes S350 BlueTec reaches the 62 mph mark in 6.5 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The beauty of this system is that if you don’t want to use the added power, you can simply turn it off with the push of a button and the car will produce the standard hp and torque. continue reading →

A few weeks ago we showed you the leaked pictures of the all-new 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG sedan, now we finally have a look at the first official pictures of the C63 AMG sedan and station wagon. The cars will make their official debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The AMG versions of the C-Class keep the visual upgrades that the C-Class received with the addition of more aggressive front fascia’s and new sporty wheels. Under the hood is the NA 6.2 liter V8 engine that produces 457 horsepower and 442 pound-feet (600 Nm) of torque. It hasn’t even been a full day since the release of the Pagani Huayra pictures and the guys at EVO magazine have already released a short video clip of the Pagani Huayra starting up and revving the engine. The sound of the twin-turbo V12 is pretty amazing and the turbo’s spool up pretty fast and the sound they make is intoxicating. The lucky German Sheppard gets to see and hear the car before many of use but he does get the bejesus scared out of him by the exhaust note.
If you don’t know already, the Pagani Huayra is powered by twin-turbo Mercedes AMG V12 engine that produces over 700 horsepower and around 740 pound-feet of torque and is said to reach a top speed of 230 mph. Pagani will be releasing official specs on Friday with maybe more pictures and video clips. continue reading →

I knew we wouldn’t have to wait till March to see the official pictures of the Pagani Huayra; I called it in the leaked Huayra pictures post. Well now it’s officially official and we get to have a look at a lot of high resolution images of the Pagani Huayra in all its glory.
Overall the brand new supercar from Italy looks pretty sexy except for the front fascia, we’ll probably get used to it. The car looks super low and has the cool gullwing doors that are normally found on Mercedes gullwing cars. Speaking of Mercedes, the Pagani Huayra will be powered by a twin-turbo 6.0 liter AMG V12 engine that is said to have over 700 horsepower and 740 pound-feet (1,000 Nm) of torque and can achieve a top speed of over 230 mph. Those are some pretty impressive numbers! The V12 engine will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and should do the 0 – 60 sprint in a very quick time. The Pagani Huayra makes use of a lot of carbon fiber and weighs around 2,900 pounds (1,315 kg). continue reading →

As we get closer to the Geneva Motor Show we’re starting to see a bit more information trickle out of Lamborghini on their Murcielago replacement car, which is yet to be named. We’ve speculated on Aventador, LP700-4, 834, and Jota but only the big boys at Lambo know what’s up.
Today we get to have a look at the beautiful suspension of the Lamborghini Aventador which will use a pushrod suspension with horizontal dampers, a first for road-going cars. I think this system is similar to what they use in Formula One; I’m a not suspension expert though. continue reading →
