It hasn’t been too long since Ferrari first introduced the awesome 458 Italia and they’re already producing newer and faster versions of it. Last week it was the 458 Challenge and today it’s the Ferrari 458 GT2 race car.
Other than Formula One, Ferrari hasn’t been participating in many racing series, they have been racing the GT2 series however, and the previous generation GT2 car (F430 GT2) has been dominating the series. Judging by the performance leap in the 458 over the F430 we think the 458 GT2 will kick some butt. The car looks very mean and looks ready to take on any competition.

Racing the Nurburgring properly in a modern day car is a tough feat, imagine how hard it was back in the day when there were on seat belts, no down force, skinny tires and all the safety equipment we’ve grown used to in modern day race cars. You had to have big balls to race at the baddest track of ‘em all.
Below you’ll find a video of Hurbert Hane being chased around the ‘ring in a camera car; Hurbert is driving the BMW-Lola 2.0 liter 16v F2 car. Back in the 1960’s they used to race F1 and F2 cars at the ‘ring. Too bad they don’t do that now, it’ll make for some entertaining races if the Formula 1 calender included the Nurburgring. continue reading →

The British publication AutoCar got a chance to drive the brand new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4’s mule tester and of course it made us very jealous but maybe 10 years from now we will be invited to test out the new V12 offering from Lambo. Although the name hasn’t been finalized yet, one thing is for sure, the car will be replacing the Lamborghini Murcielago and will be launched in March 2011 and it will be awesome.

A little information on the 2011 Lamborghini Aventador, it will be powered by a 6.5 liter V12 engine that will produce around 700 – 750 horsepower and over 500 pound-feet of torque and will be mated to a 7-speed Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) automated manual transmission. The ISR transmission shifts gears 50% faster than the already fast shifting dual clutch transmission. Power will be sent to all four wheels, just like the Murcielago. continue reading →

Our boy Tanner Foust is a very busy guy and he probably has the best job(s) in the world. When he’s not shooting “Battle of the Supercars” or “Top Gear USA”, he likes to have fun and drift. But of course you know that, we’re all car lovers here and lovers of everything else that has to do with cars and the car culture.
The video below is from the inaugural Ken Block Gymkhana Grid where Tanner Foust races (drifts) against host Ken Block at the finals of the show, in all wheel drive 550 horsepower Ford Fiestas. The video is pretty entertaining and of course Tanner wins and the Ford Fiesta’s look pretty damn hot. My only question is, where can I get my hands on a 550 horsepower AWD Ford Fiesta? continue reading →
