Just because you’re involved with racing doesn’t mean you don’t care about the environment and that’s the exact thinking behind the Peugeot 908 Hybrid4 LMP1 race car. The car is powered by a diesel engine with an electric system, which is a better option than gasoline/electric system in my opinion.
The Peugeot 908 Hybrid4 race car is powered by a 3.7 liter V8 HDi FAP diesel engine that produces 550 horsepower and is mated to a 6-speed sequential hydraulic transmission. The hybrid system provides an additional 80 horses (kW) and includes a KERS-type energy recovery system that provides 500 kJ of juice. Unlike the KERS system, this system automatically sends power to the rear wheels during acceleration, without the need for pushing a button. continue reading →
Toyota showed the latest version of their upcoming (and much awaited) sports car at the Geneva Motor Show. The latest rendition of the car is called “FT-86 II” and looks like a production ready model.
Toyota hasn’t released any information on the power output of the car but we do know the FT-86 will be powered by a front-mounted Subaru boxer engine that will power the rear wheels; most likely via a 6-speed transmission. The car is 167” long, 71” wide and 50” tall, which should make for a nimble and fun sports car. continue reading →

Aston Martin Racing unveiled their latest LMP1 contender called the AMR-One. The car will be racing against cars like the Peugeot 90X and the Audi R18 race cars at the 24 Hours of LeMans race. Unlike those two cars, the AMR-One is an open cockpit car and was built from the ground up featuring an all-new carbon fiber chassis.
The AMR-One is powered by a 540 horsepower 2.0 liter 6-cylinder engine with direct injection; the engine was specifically developed for the bespoke carbon fiber chassis. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed semi-automatic transmission. continue reading →
Something out of the past and reprieved in the future. Morgan has re-introduced their 3 Wheeler, which they produced from 1909 to 1953. Looking like a Morgan car, chopped in half with a motorcycle engine in the front, is very nostalgic and appealing to the eye.
Powering the new Morgan 3 Wheeler is a V-twin fuel injected engine from S & S that produces 115 horsepower. A 5-speed manual transmission from Mazda with a reverse gear helps move this 1,102 pound (500 kg) Morgan. A Harley Davidson engine producing 100 hp was to be used originally but plans changed. A good idea as 15 extra horsepower is always helpful. continue reading →

Mansory bastardizes yet another poor supercar, this time it’s the Ferrari 458 Italia. They’re going a bit too far (even for their standards) with their new found love for Formula 1. To some people this car might look cool (I’m guessing people that can’t see); in my opinion they butchered a perfectly good Ferrari 458 Italia. The yellow and black (carbon fiber) paint scheme doesn’t help matters either.
The first thing you’ll notice at the front is the uglified Formula 1 inspired front bumper with a “nose” going up the hood. They’ve added carbon fiber winglets to the front bumper and a massive rear diffuser and a carbon fiber rear wing. Did I mention the louver now covering the rear window and obstructing our view of the glorious V8 engine? Hello Mansory, the 80’s called, they want their louvers back. continue reading →
The car of choice for James Bond just got a little more confusing. First we have the Vantage, a 4.2 L V8 and new for 2011, a 6.0 L V12 stuffed into a coupe and hard top. Then we have the DB9, same scenario with a 6.0 L V12. Then there’s the DBS with a little more power from the 6.0 L V12. And of course we can’t forget about the four door 6.0 L V12 Rapide. Aston Martin figured it’d be a nice gesture to maybe throw another car in the mix. Aston Martin has introduced something in between the DB9 and DBS.
The new Aston Martin Virage, which looks similar to the Vantage, DB9, DBS and Rapide, will be powered by a 6.0 L V12 as mentioned above. So now James Bond has a difficult choice to make. continue reading →
