When we read about vehicles being tuned, they’re usually gasoline powered; it is somewhat rare to see diesel powered tuned vehicles, although it is quite popular in Europe. German car tuners Kicherer decided to take the Mercedes-Benz GL 420 CDI and create a new program called the Sport Black.
The Mercedes GL is powered by a 4.2 L V8 common rail diesel engine. In its stock form, the V8 outputs 306 horsepower and 516 pound-feet (700 Nm) of torque. Kicherer has increased that output to 380 horsepower and 664 pound-feet (900 Nm) of torque. The added Power Convertor to GL 42 Sport Black also sharpens the electronic gas pedal curve, to give the GL a much better response upon acceleration. The new exhaust system really opens up the roar of the diesel engine. continue reading →

Porsche unveiled their latest special edition package, this time for the Cayman S, called the Cayman S Black Edition. The special edition Porsche features a bit of power increase and special colors on the exterior and the interior and is limited to 500 units worldwide.
The Porsche Cayman S Black Edition sees an increase of 10 ponies from the 3.4 liter 6-cylinder boxer engine to a maximum 330 horsepower at 7,400 rpm. The torque output remains the same at 273 pound-feet (370 Nm) at 4,750 rpm. The small increase in power allows the Cayman S Black Edition to sprint to 62 mph in 5.1 seconds when equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission (0.1 seconds faster than the Cayman S). The sprint to 62 mph can be achieved in 5.0 seconds with the addition of the optional PDK double-clutch automatic transmission. But if you want to get to 62 mph even faster, 0.2 seconds faster, you should get the optional Sport Chrono package and activate the Launch Control. continue reading →

The Bentley Continental GT in its stock form is a very boring car. There’s nothing much to the car, except for a lot of weight. Unless you shell out a lot more for the Continental Super Sport, which receives a little more to the outside and gives it an aggressive look.
German car tuners Prior Design said the same thing as me and decided to “Go big or go home”. They chose the Bentley Continental GT Cabriolet as their canvass and went to work. They started out with the front bumper and totally revamped it and added a carbon fiber splitter to reduce the front axle updraft. To keep heat out of the engine bay, they added to hood vents to help evacuate hot air from the engine. To finish off the front, the Continental GT receives a new grill and two carbon fiber air outlets on top. continue reading →

Ever since the Porsche Panamera was introduced in the German auto maker’s line, I wasn’t too fond of it. In my opinion, it took away from Porsche’s racing heritage. US tuner Vorsteiner has turned their attention to the Porsche Panamera and came with a settle, yet eye catching kit called the V-PT Edition.
The V-PT kit for the Panamera is made out of carbon fiber for strength and light weight. The front bumper incorporates a splitter and removable carbon fiber insert. An optional carbon fiber duct is available to direct air to the factory radiator and intercoolers. continue reading →

Most car enthusiasts have heard of the Mercedes-Benz “Black Series” cars; they are the hard core versions of the already highly tuned AMG cars with DTM-styled body kits. Since 2008 Mercedes-Benz has been producing a Black Series version of its hardtop convertible, the SL65 AMG, but in a hardtop only version.
For those that like the look of the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series but still want the open-air experience of the convertible, Inden Design has a solution. Their latest tuning kit for the SL65 AMG includes an all-new body kit that provides the looks of the “Black Series” car but without sacrificing the hardtop convertible. continue reading →

It seems like just yesterday when I first heard the name Aventador and quickly scrambled to write a post on it (here). Of course that was just speculation (at that time), we didn’t know if the car will actually be called the Lamborghini Aventador but it sounded a lot better than Lamborghini Jota and we ran with it.
Now that the Aventador LP700-4 has been officially made public, for quite some time, there are lots of videos being released on a weekly basis, so instead of making a new post about each Lamborghini Aventador video, we’ll make this post the official Lamborghini Aventador Videos. We’ll keep adding new Aventador Videos as they become available below: continue reading →
