Lumma-Design-Porsche-Cayane-CLR-558-GT

The first generation Porsche Cayanne SUV was pretty ugly; the second generation however, is sportier and can actually be called a good looking SUV.  Because of the good looks, tuners have taken note of the Cayanne luxury SUV and there seems to be new body kits coming out on a weekly basis.  Lumma Design has put their unique twist on the 2010 Porsche Cayanne with their CLR 558 GT body kit, engine upgrades will come in the near future.

The Lumma Design CLR 558 GT Porsche Cayanne’s body kit is a lot more aggressive than the speedART Porsche Cayanne Titan EVO kit (which I thought was already pretty aggressive) and looks very menacing, it wants to eat kids for breakfast.  The front bumper with massive air intakes includes LED daytime running lights and fog lamps and has several carbon fiber pieces.  The hood is made out of carbon-Kevlar and includes more air intakes.  The fender flares have been replace with wider flares that blend into new side-skirts with cooling ducts for the rear brakes (not sure if they’re function or purely aesthetic) and include carbon fiber trim.  In the rear, the aggressive theme continues with a new sleek bumper and carbon fiber diffuser with three hand-made stainless steel exhaust tips in the middle.  A roof and tailgate mounted carbon fiber spoilers complete the sporty look. continue reading →

The video below is made by the guys at 0-60 Magazine and showcases the Koenigsegg Agera.  0-60 Magazine had a chance to play around with the awesome supercar at Koenigsegg’s private airport.  Unfortunately for 0-60 Magazine, their print magazine has reached the end of the line (RIP).

The Koenigsegg Agera is powered by an all aluminum V8 engine that produces a massive 910 horsepower and 811 pound-feet (1,100 Nm) of torque and can reach 60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds.

The newest contender in the super car market, the McLaren MP4-12C’s price has been released and is set to cost €200,000 in Germany and £168,500 in the United Kingdom.  McLaren hasn’t announced prices for the U.S. market.  The MP4-12C will go on sale in Europe in spring 2011 and a total of 1,000 cars will be produced in 2011.

The McLaren MP4-12C is powered by a twin-turbo 3.8 liter mid-mounted V8 engine that produces 592 horsepower and 443 pound-feet (600 Nm) of torque, the engine has been developed in-house.  The MP4-12C weighs only 2,866 pound (1,300 kg) thanks to being mostly constructed out of carbon fiber.  According to McLaren, the MP4-12C should be able to do the 0 – 62 mph sprint in under 3.0 seconds and reach 124 mph (200 km/h) in less than 10 seconds with a top speed of over 200 mph (322 km/h). continue reading →

Project-Kahn-Audi-Q7

In our opinions if you’re going to “tune” an SUV, it needs to be jacked up with massive tires, big suspension and other off-road goodies.  That is not the case with the Kahn tuned Audi Q7, but we forgive them for their “tuning” because so-called SUV’s like the Q7 never leave the pavement and are generally glorified station wagons with a bit of off-road capabilities thrown in.  Most of these SUV’s will be driven to and from soccer practices and spend a lot of time in shopping mall parking lots.

Anyways, Kahn has been known for tuning Range Rovers, Rolls Royce cars, and Porsche Cayannes with their body kits.  Now Kahn has ventured into Audi-land and has done-up an Audi Q7, which features a wide body kit with wide wheel arches.  The front wheel arches include massive air vents and the front bumper has been redesigned with big air intakes and four fog lights.  They’ve put a roof-mounted spoiler for extra down-force for when you’re traveling at 250 miles per hour (not really, I’m being sarcastic.  The entire car is finished in beautiful pearl-white paint and it rides on 22 inch Kahn RS-X rims. continue reading →

Below is a really cool car video from German TV show GRIP pitting three of Germany’s finest super cars against each other.  The cars are the Audi R8 GT, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.  Unfortunately the video is in German (the only German I know is “Du Hast Mich”) but is still pretty cool, with nice scenery and crazy slides on snow covered mountain roads.  I’d be pretty scared if I had to drive super expensive cars, super-fast on slippery roads with one mistake and you’re off the mountain.  But then again, I’m not a professional driver (yet).
