Fairy-Design-Ferrari-458-Italia-Kit-White

Here’s the first look at a new body kit for the Ferrari 458 Italia by Japanese tuners Fairy Design.  The pictures are provided by our local tuning shop SR Auto Group who will be one of the first official dealers to carry this body kit.

The tuners didn’t provide any details on the kit but from what I see in the pictures, it looks like there is a new front lip spoiler piece which continues on to the side of the car and ends at the rear bumper, that’s the best I can describe it, I don’t really know what to call it.  They’ve also added a trunk mounted spoiler. continue reading →

Novitec-Rosso-Ferrari-458-Italia-The-Twins

Below is a short video released by Novitec Rosso of a pair of their tuned Ferrari 458 Italia’s, we first posted about the car here.  This time however, the cars are finished in red with black carbon fiber trim.  I did like the white Novitec tuned 458 Italia, however, I’m not really big fan of this version, especially the red rims and the music in the video just makes everything a little worse.

A little background info on the Novitec Rosso Ferrari 458 Italia; the Ferrari 4.5 liter V8 now produces 609 horsepower and 420 pound-feet (569 Nm) of torque and has a new top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h).

The video mostly shows the cars standing still, except for the ending, I guess this is a bit of a teaser of what’s to come and I can’t wait for a full video of the car blasting around a track.  Sure, I’m not a fan of the visuals of the car but I know this car will move like lightning and sound like thunder!  Video after the jump. continue reading →

Fifth-Gear-Mclaren-MP4-12C-vs-Ferrari-458-Italia

As much as I like Top Gear, I have more respect for the opinions of the guys from Fifth Gear; they seem to be more honest about the cars and they actually provide useful information.  This post covers a short test done by the guys from Fifth Gear, comparing the McLaren MP4-12C and the Ferrari 458 Italia (which happens to be one our favorite cars, here at First Supercars).

Racing drivers/hosts Tiff Needell and Jason Plato thrashed the cars around the track, lucky guys.  Tiff’s job was to see which car was more fun and Jason’s job was to see which car is the fastest around the track.  We all know the result of the fun test, it has to be the Ferrari 458 Italia but which car is faster around the track?  Hit the jump to see the video and the results. continue reading →

Ferrari 458 Black Carbon Edition Anderson Germany

Anderson Germany has taken the Ferrari 458 to hell and back. It has come back as the 458 Black Carbon edition and is leaner and meaner than ever. The Ferrari 458 features a carbon fiber package that includes cf spoiler lips, vents on the hood, new side view mirrors, and a rear diffuser. The 458’s headlamps, windows, and taillights have also been tinted by Anderson Germany.

The Ferrari 458 now sits on a set of 21-inch alloy wheels which are also finished in carbon fiber and the brake calipers are finished in a yellow which gives it a good contrast. On the interior, the contrast theme continues onto the center console, air vents, door handles, steering wheel, door sills, shift paddles, the instrument panel, and even something the rarely seen seat adjustment handles are finished in carbon fiber. Talk about attention to detail. Anderson Germany also covered the seats and door panels in black carbon leather along with black alcantara with diamond seams. To put a final touch on the interior, an audio/visual entertainment system is also installed. continue reading →

Shelby-Cobra-vs-Ferrari-458-ItaliaBelow is a video of a drag race between a 1965 427 Shelby Cobra and a 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia, “Old American Muscle vs. New Italian Elegance”.  The Cobra is heavily modified and the Ferrari in stock form; the race was a $400,000 bet between friends Dan Bilzerain (Cobra) and Tom Goldstein (458 Italia).  Dan bet Tom that his American Muscle could beat the 458 Italia in a race.

You all know the end results without even watching the video and I personally think the “race” proves nothing, a few points: continue reading →

Mansory-Ferrari-458-Italia-Siracusa-Front

Mansory bastardizes yet another poor supercar, this time it’s the Ferrari 458 Italia.  They’re going a bit too far (even for their standards) with their new found love for Formula 1.  To some people this car might look cool (I’m guessing people that can’t see); in my opinion they butchered a perfectly good Ferrari 458 Italia.  The yellow and black (carbon fiber) paint scheme doesn’t help matters either.

The first thing you’ll notice at the front is the uglified Formula 1 inspired front bumper with a “nose” going up the hood.  They’ve added carbon fiber winglets to the front bumper and a massive rear diffuser and a carbon fiber rear wing.  Did I mention the louver now covering the rear window and obstructing our view of the glorious V8 engine?  Hello Mansory, the 80’s called, they want their louvers back. continue reading →
