If you’re into hot hatches and like the Fiat 500 Abarth but the car is either too small for you or you think it’s a bit on the girly side, Abarth has a solution for you.  It’s called the Fiat Punto Evo EsseEsse Abarth, which is a tuned version of the already tuned Abarth Punto Evo.

The Abarth Punto Evo EsseEsse comes with 180 horsepower, up from 165, with the help of a reprogrammed ECU and bigger turbochargers.  The added power propels the EsseEsse to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 134 mph (216 km/h).  To cope with the added power and speed, Abarth upgraded the brakes, suspension, and tires. continue reading →

Pocket Rocket: Novitec Abarth 500

The Novitec Abarth 500 is a hot little pocket rocket, although it’s not as powerful as the Hamann Fiat 500, the Novitec Abarth 500 still packs a punch with 212 horsepower instead of the standard 135 and 240 pound-feet (325 Nm) of torque.

The 1.4 liter 4-cylinder engine gets the extra power with the assistance of an ECU upgrade, a new turbocharger, new less restrictive air filters and an optimised air-cleaner box, a special fuel pressure control and larger injection nozzles.  The end result is a little car that could, get to 62 miles per hour in 6.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 139 mph (223 km/h). continue reading →
